Cupping

Cupping is a traditional therapy that involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. This technique is used in various cultures for therapeutic purposes, including pain relief and muscle relaxation. In recent years, additional, more modern days methods are being used as well, which is often referred to as Vacuum Therapy. These treatments range from static cupping, sports cupping, facial cupping, lymphatic cupping massage and body contouring.

How It Works

Cupping creates a vacuum effect by placing suction cups on the skin. This suction pulls the skin and underlying tissues into the cup, enhancing blood flow to the area.

History of Cupping

  • Ancient Origins: Cupping dates back thousands of years, with evidence found in ancient Egyptian, Chinese, and Middle Eastern texts.

  • Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM): In TCM, cupping has been used for centuries to balance the body's energy (Qi) and promote healing.

  • Modern Popularity: Recently, cupping gained popularity in the West, especially among athletes and celebrities, as a method for recovery and wellness.
